12/25/2023 0 Comments Surviving mars wiki buildingsNetwork Node - Makes domes specializing in science worth while as it more than makes up for the collaboration loss. I've rarely had an issue just using a medical clinic. Medical Center - Decent if you have a TON of hypochondriacs, but I think its main draw (as weak as it is) is that it (if memory serves) lowers the minimum comfort rating for baby making further than a clinic does. Larger domes are where I start to consider other spires.Ĭlone vat - I haven't used one yet (so this may be wrong), but my understanding is that it clones whoever is "working" in it, so it might have some use if you get a few colonists with really good stats (genius guru). It allows me to fit enough people to run three work-shifts at most/all in-dome buildings and two shifts at a few out-dome buildings even run some boosted day shifts. I'd say useful in edge cases.Īrcology - I love it for basic domes. Hanging Gardens - i mean, i guess i could see this being useful if you go into full on china mode (lots of housing, little pleasure), but if that's the case, wouldnt it make sense to go for a spire + some buildings? need to do the math. ![]() Its never something in between, you either want it almost everywhere to conserve water, or nowhere because you're fine on water. This depends on your game, and can be either mandatory or useless. ![]() Basically anything that uses water in the dome uses less. Water reclamation - this affects EVERYTHING. So i guess this works if you want to ignore the collaboration boost and still make a science dome anyway? I dunno. Network node - it sounds good, but due to how the collaboration malus works it discourages you from making science domes. So thats 32 colonists housing vs 14ish colonists housing. Medclinic is a small building, center is a spire. I guess i could see this being useful if you play with a sponsor that limits your rockets / passengers severely? Maybe for a "no humans" mars colony challenge? Would only really be useful in early game, where you usually cant afford it, or if you're aggressively importing people and run out of applicants (in which case your babies should be just fine anyway). It's also more comfortable than the biggest "normal" living quarters.Ĭlone vat - useless. I use this almost exclusively until later point of the game. It can't fix idiot, lazy or hypocondriac which i find are the only really bad traits.Īrcology - i find the 32 spaces is very significant, since the additional room is always a luxury. Sanatorium: Provides working spaces and treats colonists flaws ![]() I can't tell if it's just the dome or also the farms? With a farming specialized dome this could be huge! Water Reclamation: Provides 6 working spaces and reduces water consumption of the dome by 70%. I have a science dome which gains a massive boost from this. Network Node: Provides working spaces and boosts output of all research facilities in the dome. I guess it depends on the number of hypocondriacs? I have a hard time judging it's effectiveness over the infirmary. Medical Center: Provides working spaces, medical services and increased birth rates for colonists in the dome. Clones age twice as fast as regular colonists. Seems great early on but is kind of wasted in the oval or mega domes.Ĭlone Vat: Provides working spaces and clones these employees. What are your experiences with the spires?Īrcology: Provides 32 living spaces and a boost to comfort of colonists in the spire.
